Excursions from Sorrento

Capri

From Coltur Suites apartments it is very easy to reach Capri Island by ferries and hydrofoils. This island is full of great places to visit, from the little port, the first step is the well known villa of Axel Munthe, a swedish doctor felt in love with Capri, who built this villa in one of the most panoramic points of Capri. Another great seaview is by the garden of August, which will make you discover the sea of Marina Piccola and of Faraglioni rocks.

The best way to visit Capri is to rent a boat and make a tour of the island, this solution will give you the opportunity to see the famous blue grotto, the Faraglioni rocks and many others beautiful places.

Buy your ferry ticket online to save time and enjoy more time on the island.

Amalfi Coast

Sorrento is also an excellent starting point to visit the Amalfi Coast and the famous “Amalfi Drive”, that stretch of road between the sky and the sea, which leads first to Positano, a small town with colourful houses perched on a promontory. Positano is striking for its uniqueness, for its sea, which is naturally combined with its artistic heritage (the Church of Santa Maria Assunta is not to be missed).

The next stop is Amalfi, the oldest town on the coast, with a great history that can be perceived in its artistic heritage, such as its famous cathedral.

Then on to Conca dei Marini, where you can visit the splendid Emerald Grotto, and then to the last pearl of the Amalfi Coast that you absolutely must visit: Ravello. Here, the panorama of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, perhaps combined with one of the many music festivals that this town organises, will make you fully appreciate this magnificent land.

Boat excursions

Just a stone’s throw from the Coltur Suites residence is one of Sorrento’s two tourist ports, the port of Marina Grande. From here it will be possible to hire a boat for an unusual excursion, which will allow you to discover the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrentine peninsula from another perspective, in some ways much more suggestive.

We definitely recommend that you dedicate at least a day to this kind of excursion, and that you favour the island of Capri as your destination. Surely a tour around the island, a swim near the legendary Faraglioni rocks and the many grottoes, including the world-famous Grotta Azzurra, will make for an exciting day.

Of course, a sea excursion to the Amalfi Coast also holds many surprises in store, all to be discovered.

Whatever your choice, we will be happy to give you all the advice you need for a dream holiday.
